Hey you!

First things first...
as an introvert, I require time alone.

Not only that, but I believe as a result, I am also a home body. Aka... I don't really like to leave the house and be around a large amount of people. So... you can probably see how this could be an issue as a college student. Aside from classes (which don't really tend to allow me to strike up much conversation) there isn't much opportunity to socialize or get to know others.
But... this semester, I found the solution. And I am going to share this most valuable information to you. For those of you who may feel this same way, fear not, there is a solution. It is as simple as this...

"Hey you!"
"Wait, what?"
"Come... insert activity that is taking place at that moment"
"Oh, okay!"

Simple scenario. Done and done.

Okay.. so maybe it's not always that simple. But it's worked at least twice for me! And one of the times, the guy didn't even like the activity that was taking place at that moment!
We were watching football, he said it wasn't really his thing, but that didn't halt the conversation. In fact, it just struck up more conversation, and he ended up staying at our apartment for at least 15 minutes. Ya.. we had just met him. It was awesome.

So that is what I have discovered. And it's fun! You just go with the flow. And you are in your home (refer back to beginning of post), your natural habitat, nobody's expecting anything of anyone else, you can just be yourself.

I have found this works great for me, I say you give it a try! You may find you made a new friend just by yelling...

"Hey you!"
